Reader/Professor in Statistics
The School of Mathematics, Statistics & Actuarial Science (SMSAS) is
recruiting a Professor/Reader in Statistics. The successful applicant
should be able to contribute to the strong research profile of the
Statistics Group. Our research encompasses biological, medical,
ecological, spatial and shape statistics, time-series and wavelets,
financial econometrics, genetics, risk and queueing theory, epidemic
modelling, and Bayesian non-parametric statistics. Further information,

SMSAS is a dynamic department achieving national and international
excellence in both teaching and research. The current Statistics group
consists of 4 Professors, 1 Reader, 7 Lecturers and 19 PhD students.
The successful candidate will be expected to demonstrate that he/she can
contribute to the research and teaching programme in the School.
Preference will be given to candidates who fit well with one or more of
the research areas in the group although interest and main focus of work
in a complementary area would also be acceptable.
