I think it was Mary O'Brien who suggested that we carry out our continuing
campaigning and activism without ego..."if the campaign depends on you being
recognised, you're doing it for the wrong reason, and it isn't being run
right."
I'll share a bun with you !
Good wishes

I'd like an Iron Cross, if anyone fancies nominating me.
(It would just set off perfectly the rest of my chosen teaching outfit)

Apologies if not of interest .
Dear All,
The Royal Geographical Society have asked their research groups to bring to
the attention of all members the medals and awards offered by the Society.
Deadline for proposals is 28th Feb - see below for details of awards and
process (not that onerous actually).
http://www.rgs.org/AboutUs/Medals+and+Awards/Nominate+your+choice.htm
I reckon that pygyrg-ers are likely not doing what we do for the prestige or
kudos, and many of us work for the sake of what we do rather than medals,
but it might be quite nice for participatory geographies/geographers to get
a little recognition for the committed and deeply relevant work we do?
Best
