The first plenary session is on the misunderstanding and misuse of
evidence with presentations by:
The importance of The Cochrane Collaboration.

Ben Goldacre, Doctor and journalist, author of 'Bad Science' Guardian
newspaper.
Hunting for snarks: The challenge of getting evidence into guidelines.
Fergus Macbeth, Director of the Centre for Clinical Practice, National
Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence
The second plenary is on state-of-the-art methods for Cochrane reviews of
interventions, with an overview of the revised Cochrane Handbook.
Over 30 workshops will take place during the meeting and on the first
morning there will be a session on The development of the new Cochrane
Register of Studies (CRS).
