In my experience this usually happens when there are no
supra-threshold voxels in this contrast. If you have a look at the
time-series (or the respective zstat-image), you will find this to be
the case. On those occasions Feat renders the background brain with a
"standard" lookup-table going from 2.3 to 8.0, but no voxels overlaid.
Is this perhaps the case with you?
