I (and students) wouldn't be able to remember which of the following is right and which is wrong:
Dick <-arg- Husband -val-> Gay
Dick <-val- Husband -arg-> Gay
Much easier would be
Dick -is-> Husband <-has- Gay
That would fix Michael's objection.
To fix my further objection, greater changes are needed, e.g.:
Dick <-Husband- Married-Hetero-Couple -Wife-> Gay
