Are you aware of the new neighbourhoods around Northern Europe created
without cars or motor traffic? Are you interested in the possibilities for this in
the UK?
If so, we would like to invite you to Carfree UK’s AGM to be held at to be held
on Sunday December 20th at 1.30 pm at the University of the West of
England, Bristol. (more sustainable than Christmas shopping, and a lot more
interesting!) More details are on: http://www.carfree.org.uk/index.php?
pid=047.
This will be an exciting year for carfree initiatives in this country, and we
would really like your input to this. The World Carfree Cities Conference (see:
www.worldcarfree.net) is coming to the UK (York) for the first time in June. A
subcommittee of Carfree UK is organising the conference, and we are planning
to use it as a springboard to roll out a network of city-based associations to
campaign for traffic-free neighbourhoods, following the first of these, started
recently in London. This will be the main subject for discussion at the AGM.
Can you help us?
The AGM will be followed by an early evening meal/drink at a waterside pub
near Bristol Temple Meads station. Please let us know if you are planning to
come.
Best Regards
