Hey -
I can answer some of the questions (in no particular order):
1) The accounting cron job on CEs at Birmingham run daily, so we only see
updates in the MySQL database on the MON_HOST after the
edg-apel-pbs-parser job has run. Running it manually should give you
an instant update in MySQL.
2) I tested to see if our new CE appeared in the BDII by using the
following:
a) Check BDII information published by actual CE:
ldapsearch -x -v -h epgr02.ph.bham.ac.uk -p 2170 -b "o=grid" 'objectClass=GlueCE' GlueCEUniqueID
b) If a) == true, check CE appears in site BDII
ldapsearch -x -v -h epgce2.ph.bham.ac.uk -p 2170 -b "o=grid" 'objectClass=GlueCE' GlueCEUniqueID
c) If b) == true, check the CE appears in the gridpp BDII
ldapsearch -x -v -h lcg-bdii.gridpp.ac.uk -p 2170 -b "o=grid" 'objectClass=GlueCE' GlueCEUniqueID|grep epgr02
The last step took a short while to update (I checked back ~10 minutes
later). I can see lcgce03.phy.bris.ac.uk in the lcg-bdii.gridpp.ac.uk
output, so maybe there is no problem?
3) I let yaim deal with all the directory permissions. On our CE, I
have:
ls -l /opt/glite/var/
drwxr-xr-x 3 root root 4096 Dec 4 09:28 cache
drwxr-xr-x 3 root root 4096 Dec 4 09:44 info
drwxr-xr-x 3 root root 4096 Dec 4 09:28 lock
drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 4096 Feb 17 2007 rgma
drwxr-xr-x 3 root root 4096 Dec 4 09:28 tmp
ls -l /opt/glite/var/lock
drwxrwxr-x 2 edguser infosys 4096 Dec 13 12:53 gip
ls -l /opt/glite/var/tmp
drwxrwxr-x 5 edguser infosys 4096 Dec 13 12:55 gip
ls -l /opt/glite/var/cache
drwxrwxr-x 2 edguser infosys 4096 Dec 11 17:23 gip
Hope this helps,
Chris
