Hi Jackie
We keep the master question paper and associated items eg. case studies (ie
what the students are given in the exam) plus the marking schemes
permanently.
Examination scripts (ie what the students complete and submit) are retained
for 6 months after confirmation of marks/grades by the Course Assessment
Boards. (6 months is the appeal period in our regulations).
However we do keep a sample of scripts for each module as part of our quality
procedure. These are retained for 5 years after the end of the academic year
in which they were created. The samples are kept with other things like the
module timetable, handbook, feedback etc in a module "box" - until this year a
hard copy box, this year a virtual box in our edrms. I've got a note
somewhere of the sampling rules - please let me know if you want more details!
Hope this helps
Sarah
