I am managing a new programme of work at Crawley Borough Council - to
implement an Effective Information Management service. Initially the
programme will utilise the existing Stellent Content and Electronic Document
Management systems, but may require the need to implement an Electronic
Records Management system. Consequently, this will also require a Corporate
Business Classification Scheme/File Management System. Ideally, it would be
wise to implement a well tried and tested BCS solution and the Local
Government Classification Scheme sounds like a sensible option. However, I
would welcome either visiting another Borough Council that has already
implemented this Scheme or dicsussing this them over the phone.
I am looking for pros and cons of using the LGCS, length of time taken to
implement their ERM system, how well this has been received by the user
community, benefits achieved to date ?
Thanks
Julian Boba (Effective Information Management Programme Manager - Crawley
Borough Council)
