ASSISTANT RECORDS MANAGER
House of Lords Pay Band B2: £27,937 - £34,966
Fixed term contract up to September 2012, with the possibility of extension or
permanency
There is a vacancy for the position of Assistant Records Manager in the
Parliamentary Archives to contribute to the day-to-day running of records
management services for the administrations of both Houses of Parliament.
This post offers an excellent opportunity to participate in almost every aspect
of the records life-cycle and to work with some of the most important
constitutional paper and digital records in the country, during an exciting
period of change.
You will promote good practice in records management at all levels in the
administrations of both Houses of Parliament; provide advice and training;
contribute to the development of guidance and the maintenance of the
corporate classification scheme and retention schedules; assist with support
risk-based audits of records management practices; process and appraise
records and support the SPIRE Programme (responsible for implementing an
Electronic Document and Records Management System in the Parliamentary
administrations).
You should have a recognised qualification in records, archives or information
management, or comparable experience; a sound understanding of current
records management issues; experience of teamworking; excellent
communication skills, and excellent all-round IT skills.
This post will backfill the delivery of day-to-day records management services
and projects while one assistant records manager of three is seconded to the
SPIRE Programme to September 2012.
