Dear all,
Dec 16th was supposed to be a good day for me. Generally, I work very hard and I was hoping to finish at work around 1.00p.m., collect my children early from school, and then start relaxing/planning for Christmas. Things didn't turn out quite that way. I got home to discover that my next-door-neighbour of four months (number 30, Stonewell Crescent, Nuneaton) had put in planning application to turn his back garden into a housing estate (I am not exaggerating and that is only the tip of a very large iceberg). I have learned a lot of other things recently. I have learned that the Labour government of the last few years has allowed gardens to be considered as brownfield sites and that greenspace in this country has dwindled considerably over the last few years (especially in London).
I have learned that most of my neighbours are very lovely people. I have learned that my neighbour at number 30 (Andrew Fletcher) is a lovely young man from a very, very shady family and that I am only just beginning to understand how shady property developers can be.
The next few days could be quite interesting in my little, tiny corner of the world. My postcode is CV11 4TA - just in case you are interested.
Happy New Year
Tina
