Our curators and photogrammetric department have been trialing using Topcon Imagemaster software to produce 3D images from overlapping photographs taken with a standard digital camera. Paul Bryan Head of Photogrammetry at English Heritage can provide more info about the technical and software aspects. Susan Harrison, one of our archaeology curators has been doing the photography and has produced a note the things to consider during photography which I can forward to you if you would like.

Subject: 3D Imaging Software
We're looking at buying some software that will enable us to take pictures
of museum artefacts/archaeological finds with a simple camera and then
convert them into a 3D model which can be displayed on our website as part
of a virtual exhibition. The 3D image would ideally be rotatable by the
viewer and zoomable.
Does anyone have recent experience with such software? If so which can be
recommended and which should be avoided? We don't have a huge budget for
this.
Thanks
