You can look at it another way - what are your own expectations as a twitter
user?
Personally, I'm quite happy with a dual model. It works best when personal
relationships are mutual; but when I use twitter as a lightweight way of
getting event notices and information from a particular institution, I'm
perfectly happy for it to be a one-way relationship. I don't actually like
it when an institution follows me - it feels somehow overwhelming.
Maybe the easiest thing is to ask your followers what they think? The huge
advantage of twitter is that you don't have to try and read the minds of
your visitors anymore.
