There are still places left on the 'How to write a successful research
proposal' course, offered by the Library and Information Research
Group (LIRG) in January 2010
* Are you interested in doing some research?
* Would you like to improve your success rate for your research proposals?
* Do you have a great idea but do not know how to turn this into funding?
... then the Library & Information Research Group have two seminars to
help you.
It is being offered in January in three locations: London, Birmingham
and Glasgow.
Why two sessions? The two sessions are linked - with the first
providing an introduction and the second a more practical experience
to develop skills. Participants may attend both or sign up for either
seminar. For attendance at the second seminar, participants will be
asked to bring a draft proposal for discussion in the workshop session.
The two seminars held in Glasgow are run in conjunction with CDG
(Scottish Division). The CILIP Career Development Group has been
awarded the CILIP Seal of Recognition for its Continuing Professional
Development activities for library and information staff
(http://www.cilip.org.uk/qualificationschartership/seal). Attendees of
this course held in Glasgow will get a certificate of attendance.

LIRG welcomes proposals from all sectors of the profession, and
particularly invites practitioners to apply, either as sole

science departments are also welcomed and proposals which are
submitted in partnership with practitioners are particularly welcome.
