Yes, I see the new bit: (Shibboleth 2 has built-in support for metadata download, so a separate tool is no longer needed). I had the document open on my desk! (Amongst many others). Perhaps it should be modified further to say: (Shibboleth 2 has built-in support for regular periodic metadata download, so a separate tool (such as metadatatool) is no longer needed). The reason I suggest this is that I'd interpreted the Filebackedmetaadataprovider as only doing a download once or if there was no file there, due to having missed the existence of the optional cacheDuration setting. Maybe even add a bit in about cacheDuration?
