*Apologies for cross posting*
Dear Colleagues
I have been asked by the Department of Health to convene a workshop in March 2010 with the aim of developing:
(i) an overview of the principles and values that drive UK research on minority ethnic health
(ii) ideas about how these might be promoted at a European level, where such principles may differ (eg in relation to data collection, which is strongly resisted in some EU member states)
I'd be interested to hear from colleagues who would like to participate in the workshop, particularly in relation to how research on ethnicity and health is integrated into broader studies of health equity.
The discussions would contribute towards a presentation to be given by the Department at next year's Migrant Health conference in Hungary (www.mighealth2010.net), and would hopefully influence the development of shared values and principles across Europe.
Please let me know if you would like to be involved in this with some details about what you would be able to contribute.
Best wishes
Ghazala Mir
