Hi
I updated the monitoring slightly at
http://www2.ph.ed.ac.uk/~wbhimji/SRMMonitoring/
The main difference, apart from some fixes and some of the things people
wished for, is to include all entries from the BDII GlueSA info whether
they have matching spacetokens (in VOInfo) or not. This shows space
usage for those VOs that do not use spacetokens, or those like CMS,
where some sites do and other don't. A search in the token filter text
will now search on both SAName or Token Name (case insensitive).
I have also moved to also using "GlueSAStateAvailableSpace" instead of
"GlueSAFreeOnlineSize" as that seems to be more reliably reported on.
Unfortunately, however there seems to be no reliable recipe of which
variables (or method srm v. bdii) to use for all sites and all VOs. So
at the moment I am just taking the approach of putting all the
information I can get in there so at least it can be compared and
filtered on for particular VOs / sites of interest. This does mean there
are a lot of entries so drawing a space usage table without filtering
takes too long.
Making a useful general frontend may prove impossible so I think the
best way to proceed is to build on this as a backend that is flexible in
list of sites searched for and output formats but then create some
derived front pages that use particular methods that work well for UK
sites and each LHC experiment or other VO.
Anyway the main reason I am posting this apart from general feedback is
to see if anyone having grappled with this before knows of a reliable,
general way to get space usage for stuff that does not advertise iteself
in spacetokens.
Cheers
Wahid
