I feel I have to make it clear that in view of the Israeli continued
treatment of Palestine and the continued violence, abuse and degradation
metered out to all Palestinians, many of them women and children, I refuse
to set foot in Israel. I find it shocking that feminists feel it is okay to
attend this meeting - and I'm unclear as to why this is the SECOND meeting
in Tel Aviv in a relatively short space of time when there are so many other
parts of the world the Commission and the IGU could agree to meet.
I very much hope that for every Israeli academic at the Commission meeting
there is at least one Palestinian academic - ideally funded by the
Commission to compensate the extensive economic damage cause by Israeli
actions which has systematically impoverished Palestine
