CASAM Project
University of Birmingham - School of Computer Science
Starting salary in the range of £27,183 to £35,469 a year (potential
progression on performance once in post to £37,651)
Applications are invited for the post of Research Fellow within The
School of Computer Science. The appointment is to work on CASAM
(Computer-Aided Semantic Annotation of Multi-media), which is an EU
FP7 project. This is a collaborative research project which aims to
build a system to support collaborative human/machine annotation for
news agency articles. The focus of the work of the University of
Birmingham is on intelligent, adaptive interaction between a user and
the automated components of the system. This post is available until
31st March 2011.
Applicants will have completed or be near completion of a PhD in
Computer Science or a related discipline, or possess relevant
equivalent extensive research experience. The person appointed will
work as part of the CASAM group and should, ideally, have substantial
research experience in at least two of: HCI, Intelligent Systems and
User Evaluation Studies - as well as experience in developing and
maintaining web services.
