Dear Colleagues
Many of you will already be aware of the Transport Planning Professional
qualification being awarded jointly by IHT and the Transport Planning
Society. Full details can be found at http://www.tpprofessional.org/
It is the intention of the awarding bodies that this qualification
should be accessible to, and come to be sought by, not only
practitioners in transport planning, but also those whose professional
experience in transport planning has been gained substantially or wholly
in the course of academic work, especially where this includes the
training of transport planners.
Academic colleagues who are interested in seeking the qualification may
be interested to know that I recently applied for it in order to test my
suitability to act as a mentor to interested academic colleagues and to
continue to play the part I have been playing in the development of the
qualification.
The outcome is that I have been awarded it, and the Professional
Standards Committee for the qualification have asked me to make this
known so that any academic colleague who would like to discuss the
possibility of my mentoring them in seeking to become a TPP can contact
me at [log in to unmask]
