Hi Matthijs,
There is a standard throughout most starlink
documentation that default parameter values are shown in square
brackets at he end of the parameter description. So if you do "kaphelp
wcsmosaic par method" you should notice "[current value]" at the end
of the description. This indicates the default. In this case "current
value" is a bit special in that it means that the default is "whatever
you used last time you ran wcsmosaic". For instance, if you run it
once with "wcsmosaic method=sinc" and then run it again without
specifying a method, the method will default to "sinc" because that is
what you used last time. To see what the current value for a parameter
is, you can do
% parget method wcsmosaic
You should also find that the output file from wcsmosaic has the
METHOD that was used stored in its history component. Do
% hislist <name of output file from wcsmosaic>
and scroll to the last history record. It should contain a list of all
the parameter values that were used when wcsmosaic was run.
The very first time you run wcsmosaic, the default method is SincSinc.
