**Apologies for cross-posting and many thanks to all who have already
forwarded this email to postgraduates teaching in their deparmtents***
Dear all
I am writing to ask you to forward an invitation to postgraduates teaching
social policy in your department in the UK.The invitation is to take part in a
survey of postgraduate experiences of teaching:
https://www.heacademy.ac.uk/survey/postgraduates.
The ‘Postgraduates teaching social policy survey’ is being conducted by the
Subject Centre for Social Policy and Social Work (SWAP) in conjunction with
the Social Policy Association (SPA) and the Joint Universities Council for Social
Policy (JUC-SP). The desired outcomes of this survey are twofold:
•to identify areas of practice (e.g. teaching practices or support mechanisms)
and resources which might be usefully shared and developed across the
postgraduate social policy community.
•to inform professional bodies and networks (such as those sponsoring the
survey) about areas where postgraduates teaching social policy can be
usefully supported over and above the guidance they receive through their
own HEIs.
On behalf of all the partners involved we thank you in advance for your help in
circulating this email to your postgraduates.
Best wishes
Rachael Dobson (postgraduate representative, SPA Executive)

your experiences of teaching. To take part in our survey please go to

Your response is very important to us. Your answers and comments will be
used to:

and resources which might be usefully shared and developed across the
postgraduate social policy community.
* to inform professional bodies and networks (such as those sponsoring the
survey) about areas where postgraduates teaching social policy can be
usefully supported over and above the guidance they receive through their
own HEIs.
If you submit your completed survey by 30 November 2009 you will have the
chance to be entered into a prize draw to win £25 of Amazon book vouchers.
Results will be available from June 2010 when a report will be published on
