Dear SCARF users,
After a long and complicated development period I am pleased to say that Single Sign On is now available for SCARF! This new service means that, once you have registered with the help desk, you can log into SCARF using your Federal ID and password - no Digital Certificate required.
At the same time, I am also pleased to say that this has been integrated into the MEGSISSH (previously KGSISSH) service, which has also gone into production. This service means that you can now access SCARF with many popular SSH and SFTP clients directly, and without needing to use the Java GSI-SSHTerm.
These two developments together mean that access to SCARF is now simpler than ever, but at the same time share all of the security and administration enhancements that the service previously experienced using Digital Certificates.
If you would like to use Single Sign On or MEGSISSH to access SCARF please contact the help desk for further details.
I would also like to give credit to Akay Okcun and Kevin Haines for their hard work on SSO and MEGSISSH respectively.
Best wishes,
Duncan
