The London Daily Telegraph of 19 November has a news item on page 15 headed
"Fans abused me for my love of Kipling, says prize author"
which can be read at
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/culture/books/booknews/6597374/Coraline-author-Neil-Gaiman-received-hate-mail-for-liking-Rudyard-Kipling.html
There are two supplementary items which can be found today by entering
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/search/?queryText=Kipling
The author, Neil Gaiman, says that people would tell him "How could a writer
like you - that we like - like a fascist, an imperialist dog?". Gaiman
comments "They usually had not read any Kipling an had been told not to like
him by legions of 'right minded people'."
It looks as though we still have plenty of work to do.
