The Records Management Association of Australasia (RMAA) recognises that in
order to continue to improve and develop, the annual convention needs its
own independent identity. The aim is to provide a wider range of
information-based topics and to expand the participant base to related
information fields. Most importantly it provides future participants with
the most up to date and relevant convention that the RMAA can offer.

InForum 2010 is being held 5-8 September 2010, Gold Coast Convention Centre,
Broad Beach, Queensland, Australia

INFORMATION CONTINUITY: SAFEGUARDING BUSINESS AND COMMUNITY IDENTITY
This convention focuses on information continuity for the business and
government world, and also for individuals, families, community-based
organisations, and indigenous and minority communities. There are multiple
perspectives of how information, memory and evidence supports business and
community identity and all need to be understood and included in policy,
practice and enabling technologies. Through multiple concurrent sessions
consisting of professional papers, roundtables and workshops, the forum will
explore perspectives of business, government and communities; and the
policies, processes and enabling technologies that support information
continuity.

Topics could include:
*Different ways community identity is created and maintained
*Privacy issues in revealing identities
*Digital rights management
*Role of continuity plans and how to develop one
*Innovations in education curricula
*Research into communities to establish and regain evidence and memory
*Recovering evidence and identity after natural disasters or system failures

*Innovation in storage and preservation standards and practice
*Information continuity and risk strategies
*Challenges in sharing and re-using information
*Case studies on data transfer and migration, inheriting functions and
business mergers
*Innovations in continuity and change management
*Emergency management plans *Digital curation strategies
*Preserving records in community memory places

We welcome contributions from community-based organisations, indigenous
communities, disaster or system failure survivors, risk analysts, legal
practitioners, researchers, heritage consultants, business and government
organisations, information professionals, preservation experts, risk
analysts, educators, students, continuity and disaster planning experts.

Interested in presenting a session? We would really like to hear from you.
It could be a professional paper, a workshop, a panel, a poster session or
roundtable.

Please send your abstract (100-300 words), personal profile (100-200 words)

Call for contributions close 1 FEBRUARY 2010, but earlier submissions are
welcome or contact me if you want to discuss ideas first.
