I had too many replies to my 'Facebook ban in HE libraries?' query to
paste them into an e-mail, so if anyone wants the detail (anonymised of
course) in a Word document please let me know and I will send a copy to
you as soon as I'm able. A very few comments have been excluded as they
were from libraries outside the HE sector, or would be very difficult to
anonymise and still retain the sense of the original response.
Just to confirm - the overwhelming majority do not, and have no plans
to, ban facebook use for all the same reasons that occurred to me when
it was first mooted here.
Thanks again to all colleagues who took the time and trouble to reply.
I'm pleased to say that we are not now being rushed into a decision
without some attempt to gather evidence first.
