Your nominations needed for the JISC TechDis Publisher Lookup award 2010
With over 1,000 unique visitors a month, the PublisherLookup website
(www.publisherlookup.org.uk <http://www.publisherlookup.org.uk/> ) is
helping to connect library services with publishers in order to obtain
electronic versions of textbooks for disabled users. Now, a year after
the launch of the website we are looking for your best experiences in
the PublisherLookup awards.
These awards, sponsored by IanSyst and Dolphin (both specialists in
alternative formats) give you the opportunity to nominate publishers who
you feel have given good service in responding to your requests. By
nominating publishers who provide a good service you
* help raise the awareness of disability issues in the
publishing world,
* confirm the importance of good practice for customer
relations,
* provide positive feedback where it is most deserved.
Bearing in mind that some requests - by their nature - are more
difficult for publishers to fulfil, good practice may be more than rapid
delivery but may equally be effective, timely communication whilst
fulfilling a difficult request or creative ways around copyright and
licensing obstacles.
To nominate a publisher who has given you good service in providing
digital copies of a text book please visit http://tinyurl.com/tdlibaward
from December 1st to January 31st and cast your vote in the short online
form.
Many thanks
Alistair McNaught, Senior Advisor, JISC TechDis
