It is marvelous to see so many contributions have already been made to this
forum. I am Tracy McCoy and I am a founding member and Chair of the
University of Wolverhampton LGBT Staff Network.
We've been running (with a constitution) for just over two years and have a
membership of about 25 people. Initially our membership was restricted to
LGBT identified people only, but this has broadened because our focus has
been upon institutional change and acceptance and to this end we need buy-in
from across the university community.
I've shared our constitution which he derived from that which was used by
Midland LGBT Network. I hope this may be of use to some of you.
We are planning our next LGBT History month event at the moment which we
have scheduled to take place on the 24th February 2010. I 'll let you all
have details as soon as they are a little more concrete.
We are members of the Stonewall Diversity Champions programme and are
working towards a placement within the top 100 of the Stonewall Workplace
Equality Index. We have found membership of Diversity Champions and the
structure of the WEI application beneficial in helping us to steer our
university towards recognition and action as well as understanding of
equality and diversity issuse.
