Re. The SNOMED CT eLearning module - this can be downloaded to put into a University's own VLE at https://www.uktcregistration.nss.cfh.nhs.uk/trud/ you need to register first. In relation to Rod's comments below the download process has been changed so that by accepting the conditions you sign up to the agreement and can distribute within the guidelines without additional written permission. If you are using within a University that’s fine.

Anyone can also access and run through the module on the web via this link http://www.connectingforhealth.nhs.uk/systemsandservices/etd/elearning/nhselearning/snomedct/index_html if you want.

Katherine,

Thanks for pointing these out. I note on the SNOMED one the "conditions of use" it says

"You may only use the Programme within the organisation it is provided to and you may not distribute or make additional copies of the Programme or its contents, in whole or in part, or modify the Programme in any way unless such action is necessary for the purposes of research, training or teaching within your organisation and such action has been authorised by the Authority in writing."

But there is no indication (eg a contact email) of who I need to apply to if I wanted to use this with students at my university. Any ideas?

Rod

Hi Denise,

I know that Phil replied to you already but thought you might also be interested in:

- Find courses, resources and advice through PHI today at

http://www.connectingforhealth.nhs.uk/phi - PHI has a page that looks at ‘What is HI?’ so that might be helpful.

- I’ve just had word of a new portal on e-learning from NHS CFH: NHS Connecting for Health provides a wide variety of e-learning courses, tools and resources which are available to support the NHS throughout the implementation of the National Programme for IT (NPfIT) and beyond. Read more: http://www.connectingforhealth.nhs.uk/elearning

- And then there’s the link to the document ‘Making Information Count’ from 2002 http://www.dh.gov.uk/en/Publicationsandstatistics/Publications/PublicationsPolicyAndGuidance/DH_4073078

Cheers,

Katherine

I am collecting materials to support a pack of slides and materials we are developing on ‘An introduction to SNOMED for Health Informatics’ as well as part of an audit for IHTSDO – if anyone can send me any references to any papers, websites etc I would be most grateful.

Many Thanks in anticipation.
