3D Visualisation Specialist
Scotland
About us:
At Land Use Consultants (LUC), we are dedicated to conserving, protecting and
enhancing the environment. LUC is one of the UK’s leading environmental
consultancies, specialising in planning, design and management. Founded in
1966, we have over 100 employees based in London, Glasgow, Bristol and
Edinburgh.
Our clients include a broad spectrum of central and local government,
government agencies and environmental bodies, professional institutions and
trade associations, the voluntary sector, and private sector companies.
We are now looking to expand and strengthen our Digital Design team through
the recruitment of 3D Visualisation Specialist to join our Glasgow office. (An
Edinburgh based post will be considered for the right candidate)
About the role:
You will produce a wide range of visualisations such as high quality
photomontages, virtual reality images and environments for walk-fly-through
visualisations. You will use these to visualise potential changes to the wider
landscape, e.g. the introduction of new infrastructure, land use change or a
change to the natural environment. You will work very closely with the other
3D, GIS and graphics specialists of the Digital Design Team and gradually play
an active role in the development and management of the team. You will also
be involved in project acquisition and in the promotion of the Digital Design
Team’s services.
About you:
You will be a 3D Specialist with extensive experience in 3D modeling and
photomontage software, ideally landscape focused. You will also be familiar
with data management and merging inputs from various sources such as GIS,
CAD and various terrain model formats. Software packages in use by LUC
currently include: Autodesk 3D Max, Resoft Windfarm, Topos, AutoCAD, Adobe
CS and ArcGIS and so experience in some of these packages is essential. Your
programming skills will enable you to automate repetitive tasks and customise
software packages. Experience in GIS and the ability to present your work in
various digital outputs (e.g. DTP or online) would also be advantageous. In
addition to your technical skills, you will also be a keen team player and a good
communicator with experience of delivering multiple simultaneously running
projects to a high standard in an organised and effective way.
In return, we can offer an attractive salary (depending on experience) and
benefits package.
