I have received an enquiry about a fossil plant specimen named Bowmanites cambrensis, found at the Varleg Iron Works near Pontypool in 1871. It's not actually a Survey specimen - rather it's probably in the Binney Collection in the Sedgwick Museum. I've checked a number of sources, but have been unable to locate the site of the Varleg Iron Works. Can anyone help?
Thanks,
Mike.
