I am requesting assistance in getting in contact with journalists who
are refugees and with newspapers, newsletters and online news sites that
are being produced by refugees both in and out of camps. It is a
strangely under-documented topic in refugee studies and I am seeking to
understand why. Palestinians aside, I am currently aware of only three
publications: Kanere, a newspaper by refugees in Kakuma, Kenya;
www.futurosahara.jeeran.com (in Spanish and Arabic) by Saharwi refugees;
and The Bhutan Reporter newspaper and associated websites
(www.apfanews.com, www.bhutannewsservice.com and
www.radiobhutanonline.com) by Bhutanese refugees in Nepal. Your help
will be gratefully received.
Thank you,
Amanda Craig
