Hello,
I have been charged with developing an advisory council for a US state-
based initiative for a grant with funds allotted for supporting people with
disabilities go to work. The initiative is a public/private partnership between
local government and a university center who will be undertaking a number of
projects over the next two years.
The purpose of the advisory council will be to advise on the strategic
direction of our efforts over the course of the grant and will represent a multi-
stakeholder composition of people with disabilities, employment service
providers and employers/businesses.
Since we are in the formation stages, I am looking for resources around best
practices in terms of composition (number of people with disabilities
represented) and processes (ensuring equal participation) for building
inclusive advisory councils. I am looking for evidence based research and/or
examples of best practices that can help guide us. Any help is appreciated.
Thanks!
