History and Philosophy of Geography Research Group Sponsored Sessions
RGS-IBG Annual Conference 2010, London, 1-3 September 2010
The History and Philosophy of Geography Research Group invites suggestions
for sponsored sessions at the RGS-IBG Annual Conference 2010 in London from
1st to 3rd September 2010. The conference topic is "Confronting the
Challenges of the Post-Crisis Global Economy and Environment".
We welcome suggestions for sessions across our remit, interpreted broadly, as
the histories and/or philosophies of human geography, physical geography and
associated fields, or in philosophies, theories and methods related to
geography. Proposals for co-sponsored sessions with other Research Groups
are also welcome.
HPGRG sponsorship can provide promotion for your session, help manage
timetabling clashes, and enable bidding for funding for Research Group guests
and awards for postgraduate presenters in your sessions.
Please send an abstract of your proposed themed session (not more than 250
words with 5 key words), together with an indication of proposed format (e.g.
papers or panel discussion, number of papers, use of discussants) and number
of session slots requested (please also indicate co-sponsorship sought), to
Heike Joens, Secretary HPGRG ([log in to unmask]) by 30th November 2009.
Please also direct any questions to Heike Joens. Further details about the
Annual Conference 2010 can be found at www.rgs.org/AC2010.
