Thanks for the feed back, we're having a little trouble tracking down your problem - hopefully you might be able to help us here!
The Assignment Panel is used for assigning peaks picked in a spectrum; to use with a given peak list you need to first select a peak from that peak list in the Spectrum Window (click 'Peaks' for possible peak lists associated with that spectrum) and then (using keypress 'a') go to the assignment panel - (as an example of how to use this).
Could you provide a screen shot of your problem? Is the problem is coming from the Assignment Panel itself, or another popup (the popup name is in the title bar for that popup).
