Dear All:
Thank you so much for your wonderful advice with regards to model selection.
As I am still interested in optimizing my Gibbs sampler, I am very interested in implementing my model using C/C++ or perhaps even FORTRAN. I have run into JAGS, which seems to be a C version of WinBUGS and promises to have the
(i) ease of use of WinBUGS and
(ii) the speed of C
I was wondering what people's general experience was with JAGS vs MATLAB performance? I understand both are technically C programs that interpret their own language, but JAGS seems to have a more specialized language so seems to promise to be somewhat faster...
Thank you
Misha
