Anne Campbell

Abstract:
Anne Campbell, former MP for Cambridge, will help you to assess the
answer to this question and
guide you in the ways in which you can influence Parliamentarians. She
will also cover the best ways of
contacting MPs, how you can find out more about your MP, how the all
Party Parliamentary Groups work
and how to give evidence to a Select Committee. She will talk about the
tried and tested methods of
influencing Government policy and how difficult it is.
Speaker:
Anne Campbell is a qualified statistician and taught mathematics,
statistics and computing at what is
now Anglia Ruskin University and later became Head of Statistics and
Data Processing at the
National Institute of Agricultural Botany. In 1994 Anne founded
Opportunity Links Ltd which
provides family support information and Cambridge On Line which
facilitates access to interactive
computer technology for people with disabilities. She served on
Cambridgeshire County Council
and subsequently was member of parliament for Cambridge from 1992-2005.
Since December 2005 Anne has been chair of Cambridgeshire and
Peterborough NHS Foundation Trust.
Directions:
The main entrance is reached from Clarkson Road by going along the
footpath to the right of the Newton Institute, and turning left through the
gatehouse towards the main building (Pavilion A), which has a glass
front and
a curved grassed roof. The main entrance is in the middle of the glass
front. Coffee before the talk will be in the common room in Pavilion D,
and the talk will be in Meeting Room 4 in Pavilion A. Free Parking is
available after 5pm on Clarkson and Wilberforce Roads.
