Hi Antoinette
Elaine Ostroff in the States would be useful to contact, she set up the
Universal Design Educators Online, which she now runs more as a news
letter but the site is still there http://www.udeducation.org/ and the
newsletter http://www.ihcdstore.org/universaldesign-net/
Of course our distant taught MSc programme has an interesting aspect of
bringing together different disciplines to study inclusive design - so
we have architects, building surveyors, building control inspectors,
occupational therapists, museum curators, policy advisors, etc see the
link at the bottom of the message for more information.
Regards
Marcus

Subject: [ACCESSIBUILT] Teaching Universal Design to Designers
Hello all,
I'm writing a report on Universal Design on Built Environment Curricula.
To
help me ensure that my desk research is as exhaustive as possible can
you
please point me in the direction of any of the following that you may be
aware of:
1. Academic papers, publications, project reports etc. on teaching
Universal/Inclusive Design on built environment (third or higher level)
courses
2. Institutions/organisations/research groups etc. that specialise in
teaching or training built environment undergraduates or professionals
in
Universal/Inclusive Design
3. Names of key researchers in this field
4. Names of electronic databases that you use to search for academic
papers
in this field (I primarily use Science Direct, Jstor, Pubmed, Google
Scholar, and SpringerLink)
I'm particularly interested in methods of teaching and investigations
into
the effectiveness of these methods. And did students actually apply what
they learned about universal design in their professional careers?
Still laughing about the blood test sign :>)
Thanks,
Antoinette
