Is anyone using decision support software routinely in their department?
I've seen it demonstrated at times and haven't really been impressed in
the past but our Trust is looking at it again. It seems to me a good
idea in principle but I worry that in practice it would be time
consuming and ultimately unlikely to make a significant change in the
majority of patients. Perhaps the technology has moved on a lot in the
last few years.
Is it just a cheaper (possibly more reliable) way of trying to achieve
24 hour experience in the ED? However, there is much more to be had
from an experienced person (all be it flawed) than a computer program
surely.
