Postdoctoral Research Associate - Non-motorized Transportation Data Analysis
Job Description - The Alan M. Voorhees Transportation Center at the Edward
J. Bloustein School of Planning and Pubic Policy, Rutgers, The State
University of New Jersey has an immediate opening for a postdoctoral
research associate in the area of non-motorized transportation. The
successful candidate will conduct analytical research on issues associated
with non-motorized transportation, including behavioral factors, safety, and
relationships to urban form and land use patterns. The candidate will
also work with senior faculty and staff at the center to pursue external
funding for research involving application of social science and analytical
skills to transportation issues.
The successful candidate will have a Ph.D. in transportation planning or
engineering, public policy, economics, geography, sociology, psychology or
other closely related fields. Candidate should have significant knowledge
and interest in analysis of transportation policy and non-motorized
transportation as demonstrated by research, publications, consulting and
conference presentations. Candidate should have experience with, and
sophisticated knowledge of, advanced statistical techniques for the social
sciences including relevant software packages. Candidate should have
demonstrated ability to write effectively and give effective presentations.
Experience with curriculum development and teaching is desirable.
