Dear John,
Thank you for the tip. In fact, some time ago I already attempted to
get someone to review the electronic Typee, but unfortunately it never
materialized. I will try again.
Best wishes,
Wim

Dear Wim,
My electronic edition, "Herman Melville's Typee," is a fluid-text
approach to editing revision in both manuscript and print. It is
published through Virginia's Rotunda Imprint and has just received MLA's
CSE seal. I would welcome a review of it.

John

Subject: new reviews feature
Dear Colleagues,
As reviews editor for Variants, I am planning to introduce a new regular
feature in the journal with reviews of digital editions and electronic
archives. It seems only right that the European Society for Textual
Scholarship, which after all has a substantial number of members working
on these kinds of editions, should pay attention to this. At the
moment, only very few organs and organizations take the matter of
reviewing these edition at heart. In an academic climate that
increasingly depends on impact and bibliometrics, it is of huge
importance that digital editions deserve this kind of rigorous
assessment. Please do send me your suggestions of sites/editions that
could be considered-or that you would want to consider--for review.
Best wishes,
Wim
