Dear All
Could you please draw this advance notice to the attention of anyone
who might be interested to attend.
One of our research students, Mary Katherine Scott, is convening a
1-day symposium here on Thursday 18 March 2010:
ANCIENT AND MODERN: EXHIBITING THE PAST IN THE PRESENT, with Nelson
Graburn (UC Berkeley), Henry Drewal (SRU visiting fellow), Magali
Melandri (musee du quai Branly), Wayne Modest (Horniman Museum) and me.
We will discuss various recent exhibitions dealing with different parts
of the world.
More info can be found on the SRU website
(http://www.sru.uea.ac.uk/news.php#Ancient). There is no fee, and
lunch/tea will be supplied; advance registration is required, so we
know numbers. The symposium will run from about 11.00 till 5.30; the
programme is just being finalised, and will be updated on the website.
All colleagues, students and interested parties are more than welcome.
This might be an occasion for students in other universities to visit
the SRU and the Sainsbury Centre galleries.
All best, Steven
