The Assessment Tomorrow 2009 Edinburgh Conference
www.scotland2009.assessmenttomorrow.com

11th November 2009 at the Grosvenor Hilton Hotel, Edinburgh

There has been much discussion recently about the Assessment is for
Learning agenda and how best to reap the benefits of this coherent
framework for assessment. A framework in which a wealth of evidence of
learning can be gathered and interpreted to best meet the needs of learners,
their parents and teachers, as well as school managers and others with
responsibility for ensuring that education in Scotland is as good as it can be.
Technology provides a key tool for managing this process and the 4th annual
Assessment Tomorrow conference will focus the latest achievements,
developments, innovation and good practice within formative and summative
assessment, and how the technology supports those requirements.

We are delighted to be collaborating with SQA and Learning and Teaching
Scotland, who will provide the keynote presentations. An exciting line up of
speakers from education and industry, including practitioners, suppliers and
HMIe Scotland, will give expert guidance and insight. The conference will be
chaired by Professor Cliff Beevers. Emeritus Professor of Mathematics at
Heriot-Watt University and among the speakers will be

SQA – keynote opening address
Andrew Brown, GLOW Team, Learning and Teaching Scotland
Gavin Cooney, MD, Learnosity
Bryan Mathers, MD, Learning Assistant
Andy McAnulla, BTL
Sheila Gordon, Aberdeen College
Susan McLaren, e-Scape Project Team, Scotland
Iain Lowson, HMIe
Martyn Ware, e-Assessment Manager, SQA

Come along and help us examine some of those profound changes and the
impact on learning, teaching and training. The fee for the conference is £190
per delegate plus VAT for Schools and Colleges, £225 + VAT for other
delegates. Bookings can be made using the attached brochure or online at
www.scotland2009.assessmenttomorrow.com

We trust you or one of your colleagues will be able to join us for what will
certainly prove to be an invaluable and thought-provoking conference.
