Hi All,
being mindful of the importance of handling course information on our
institution websites I am keen to find out how everyone else manages this
data?
We are about to rebuild our central web site with OpenText CMS and we are in
a position to review how we currently manage courses. We traditionally have
used our in house student information system (soon to be superseded by
Banner). The new page design we have for our courses section does not
match the data that is managed in the student information system and there
is doubt that the quality of data that is required for our 'killer' course
application will be provided in such a way. The options available are to keep
using this external database, build a new dedicated external database or
manage the 700 or so courses directly in the CMS.
All options have pros and cons but I would like some feedback on what you
currently do and if you are happy with that approach or would you prefer to
do this another way?
Many Thanks,
