How about a meeting where everyone has to bring a game/training
exercise?

I was only out of the office for the morning and missed a good healthy
debate and discussion from all via email. Not being a fully fledged
member I can certainly see the value to sharing knowledge through this
portal.
I agree that RM is more about IM and more importantly about strategic
information management. A lot of my role (possibly as PCTs are newish
Orgs and re-Orgs) is looking at ways of improving RM by understanding
the interdependencies and interrelationships and looking at a
collaborative work and moving away from fragmented and silo effect.
Although IT systems may be an enabler they are not the drivers. The
people and the processes (and re-design) are the key to success, and
technology is by no means the solutions to problems if you ignore the
people and process.
Training for all staff is essential to support the RM role and should
be higher on the agenda.
Fun and games as per

To add to the soup, I don't see any difference between IM and
RM...never had.
For me, they sit as one with KM on the side covering that corporate
knowledge not 'recorded'

Hi Penny,
Now those of you who know me know I never do contentious! - when I
studied IM there was a lot of talk and division about whether there was
a difference between KM and IM more so than the difference between tacit
and explicit information [duh!] and now RM seems to undertake more roles
I would have said were IM than I studied as RM so perhaps - how the
IM/RM roles have blurred?
I am also happy to volunteer as a facilitator! [Out of comfort or
otherwise!]

[RMS-NORTH] Topics for meeting 2010
Just wondered if people would be willing to come forward with any
burning
ideas for our quarterly meetings next year?
Something I am mulling over is a day dedicated to Knowledge
Management/Information Management so we could have a clearer idea
about
what they are about and how they interrelate [or not] with records
management.
Another idea is taking a look at what records managers do and what it
is
perceived that we do possibly with a facilitator to challenge some of
our ideas
and take us out of our comfort zones.
What other ideas are out there?
