Executive Director
The Jane Goodall Institute, UK
An opportunity to lead campaigning and fund raising for JGI, UK, a wildlife
conservation and education charity
2010 represents the 50th anniversary of the start of Dr. Jane Goodall’s ground-
breaking research at Gombe Stream in Tanzania. Born in the UK, Dr. Goodall is
Founder of the Jane Goodall Institute, an ethologist and a UN Messenger of
Peace.
This anniversary presents an ideal platform from which to launch a major fund
raising campaign for JGI UK, to ensure support for our ongoing education
programmes in the UK (Roots & Shoots) and community conservation
programmes in Africa.
Our ideal candidate must have a clear interest in and commitment to JGI’s
mission and be able to demonstrate the leadership and communications skills
needed to drive fundraising success. Experience in raising funds from the
corporate sector and major private donors would be a clear advantage. The
role requires passion, initiative and entrepreneurial drive, and an ability to work
closely with Dr. Goodall, and the UK Trustees and staff to achieve these goals.
The package will be both salary and incentive based, to manage risk and
reward success. Opportunity to work from home or from our London or
Southampton offices. Potential for rapid promotion to Chief Executive, subject
to performance.
Applications by email, including a CV and a letter highlighting your interest in
and suitability for the role by 9th November to [log in to unmask]
Our mission is to prevent the extinction of chimpanzees through conservation,
