Plans are already well underway to organise the Regional Big Bang Fairs 2010 with the bidding process being open to all organisations with the potential to manage the event in their region. The initial deadline for submission of bids is 9th October 2009 but there will still be the opportunity for organisations and STEM deliverers to feed into their local event.
The aims of the Regional Big Bang fairs are:
- To celebrate the achievement and excellence of young people through the competition, while educating and inspiring young people not yet engaged about STEM in their future careers
- To act as a showcase for regional and local STEM initiatives.
- To engage widely with local schools, STEM providers and regional businesses and industry to highlight the many STEM opportunities that are available.
- To identify eligible students (individuals, teams and clubs) to represent the region at The Big Bang 2011.
If you would like further information on the bidding process or developments in your region then please contact [log in to unmask]
If you would be interested in joining a consortium of deliverers, or getting involved on one particular aspect of the fair, please let Ellie Chambers know.
