OK, I realise my natural cynicism is causing me to misread the poem, and that what he is actually doing is (as Desmond suggests) creating a subversive po=mo anti-text, by denying any poetic ability (it's as likely that he'll be capable of writing her praises as an owl is of looking at the sun) at the same time that he manifests this ability in the text which he is creating.
Clever bugger, i'n't he?
K, now to wait for the son of another listmember to turn up at the hotel (Glasgow) to meet for a coffee.
Might try and digitally record Carlos -- got maybe an hour of me and Tom Leonard chatting in the cafe opposite the Glasgow University Library yesterday.
