MALAYSIA-IMPERAIL DOCTORAL PROGRAMME
The Centre for the Transport Studies invites applications from suitably qualified doctoral candidates under
the Malaysia-Imperial Doctoral Programme (MIDP).
The MIDP is a collaboration between Imperial College London, the Malaysian Ministry of Higher Education
and five key Malaysian universities, Universiti Malaya (UM), Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), Universiti
Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM), Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM), and Universiti Teknologi Malaysia. The scheme
is intended to offer doctoral-level education and research training to academic staff and students at these
and other top Malaysian universities.

The Centre for Transport Studies is one the largest and most successful transport research groups in Europe,
comprising eight academic staff drawn from a variety of different disciplines and a vibrant community of over
60 doctoral students and post doctoral researchers undertaking research across a broad range of topics
including transport demand modelling, transport policy and regulation, transport operations, transport and
the environment, transport safety, intelligent transport systems, railway operations and management, air
transport operations and control, and maritime logistics. Further information about our research can be found

PhD students can begin their studies at Imperial at any time of year, and applications can be accepted on a
rolling basis. However, please note that MoHE and the Malaysian host universities may have internal
deadlines . For students wishing to begin on 1st October, the start of Imperial's academic year, initial MIDP
applications should be submitted by 30 April.
