The University of Greenwich and the Institute of Mathematics and its
Applications are hosting "Tomorrow's Mathematicians Today" at Greenwich
on Saturday 6 February 2010. This is a conference where undergraduates
will deliver short presentations about mathematics which excites them.
We are very fortunate that Professor Ian Stewart FRS has agreed to
deliver the keynote speech.
This will not only be a wonderfully entertaining mathematical day but
will give undergraduates who may be considering further study the
opportunity to experience the procedure of an academic conference, with
the call for papers, submission of abstracts etc.
The conference is free to participants (we are asking departments whose
students are benefiting to consider making a contribution of £10 per
student up to a maximum of £100 as a contribution to the catering costs.
Further details are at the conference website
